When Sandrine learned about design thinking and problem-solving through Girl Boss Basics, she proposed to let the beans on her family's subsistence farm reach maturity level, harvest and prepare them, and then sell them at the local market. With the profit, they could buy additional food and manage their food insecurity. Her idea was successful, and Sandrine's mother was impressed that her idea was changing their lives at home and making the family healthier.

”The Girl Boss program was awesome because at first crocheting was just a hobby, something I loved doing, but after attending the classes, I realized my small idea could be something bigger. Getting the opportunity to interact with like minded business oriented people changed my mindset into believing that young women can actually come up with great ideas and run successful businesses. It's not about age and how long you have run a business, It's all about the skills you have learnt and how you apply them in the business.“

“Facilitating Girl Boss Professional has changed my homestay business because I now have a better grasp on planning and running my business. When I started my business initially, I didn't have a plan, it was a random thought, however going through the program and facilitating the curriculum as well has made me a better entrepreneur. Every session is memorable for me because I am constantly learning. I believe if I had a chance to learn this curriculum a long time ago while in school I would have been way ahead in my life.”

“No one is left out in this impact including the parents of the Girl Bosses who witnessed this transformation in their children while they were enrolled in Girl Boss sessions online at home during the pandemic. During the calls I had with parents, they would mention that they are convinced to support their children’s journey to education or employment or entrepreneurship by postponing their marriage because of how invested the girls and I am [as their advisor] in their child’s life.”
